Locking a layer can be useful if you are designing a template and do not want it to be editable when the template is used.

Set your design as a template. Find out how to do this here.

  • Select a panel on your design, followed by the Layers palette.
  • Select the padlock icon for the panel that you would like to lock.
  • Two options are available so you can lock the Position and Settings of the layer and/or the Content of the layer
  • Any locked layers will display with a highlighted locked padlock icon

When the template is used to create an issue, any locked layers will be uneditable.

Did you know?
A layer cannot be unlocked when an issue is created from a template. The layer will need to be unlocked in the original template and a new issue created using the updated template.
